Candy Corn Athletic Crew Socks hold 4,043 reviews at 4.65. That proof is the asset your ads should start from.

Danilo Vicioso

Who I am

  • Former COO of Tabs. Built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it.
  • Founded Mainstreet, a consumer home-services platform: a team of 70, $25M raised (Greylock, Khosla, YC, Tim Ferriss). It failed.
  • Before that: Quintessential Ventures, an early seat at a high-growth startup, and entrepreneur-in-residence at Prehype.
  • I'm moving into growth specifically. The creative and top-of-funnel work is what I want to be doing every day.

What I noticed

  • Candy Corn Athletic Crew Socks sell at 22.00 CAD with a 4.65 rating across 4,043 reviews. That is the strongest proof in the catalog, and ads can lead with it.
  • Great Outdoors Athletic Crew Socks 3-Pack is 56.00 CAD, struck down from 66.00, with 27 variants. Twenty-seven options in one pack is a lot of choice for a first-time buyer to untangle.
  • The home description says "Everyone else makes the socks you forget." Chocolate Pistachio Athletic Crew Socks at 22.00 CAD and Nanaimo Bar Athletic Crew Socks are that line made visible in a product.

What I built

What I'd do here

  • My KPI: scale ad spend, hold target CAC. Everything else follows from that, whether the ad sells a 22.00 CAD crew sock or a three-pack.
  • Week to week: launching a bunch of different experiments, losers killed early. One variable per test, so a Candy Corn winner tells us why.
  • Creators I'd recruit: runners and shift workers for compression, trail hikers for Wild Coast, and print-obsessed collectors for Slothonaut and Purrkenstein.
  • Reporting so you never have to ask. Daily CAC. Weekly what we learned. Monthly cohort payback.
  • Event tracking I'd spec and work through with your team, so repeat orders are counted. That part isn't me.

Two creators join each week, and the video count climbs from 14 to 70 a week as they do. New ads and landing pages follow the creators: 12 new ads a week at first, 20 by week five, 10 creators live by week six. Proposed.

Creator videos a week = creators live × videos per creator. Week 1: 0 × 7 = 0; Week 2: 2 × 7 = 14; Week 3: 4 × 7 = 28; Week 4: 6 × 7 = 42; Week 5: 8 × 7 = 56; Week 6: 10 × 7 = 70.

How I'd start

  • Pull the review language from the Candy Corn and Glazed pages and turn it into the first hook library, before any creator is briefed.
  • Write a claims sheet from your own wording on warranty, returns and free shipping, so every creator brief stays inside what you already say.

I'd love to chat if this makes sense. Grab a time here.
