Somebody had to take socks seriously.
In 2016 we went looking for one pair that could handle the run, the gym, and the rest of the day, and still look like something you'd choose on purpose. Nobody made it. So we did.

Own the Sock Drawer.
Every other sock makes you choose. Perform or look good. We never accepted the trade.
Shop socks by height
Ankle, quarter, crew, and knee-high compression.

Sits hidden below the shoe line.
OUTWAY's no show socks are built with an internal silicone grip to keep them locked in place without slipping, which is the number one issue with this height.
Flagship Black No Show Socks $14

Sits at the shoe line.
Ankle socks sit just at or slightly above the ankle bone.
Head In The Clouds Athletic Ankle Socks $18

Sits above the ankle bone.
Quarter socks sit between the ankle and the calf, giving you more coverage than an ankle sock without the full length of a crew.
Banff Athletic Quarter Socks $10 $20

Sits just below the calf.
Crew socks rise to mid-calf and are the most versatile height in the lineup.
Bright Night Athletic Crew Socks $22

Sits just below the knee.
Knee-high compression socks are the most purpose-built height in the lineup.
Racuccino Athletic Knee High Compression Socks $44
Which height for which activity
The quick reference from Outway’s own guide, “How to Choose the Right Sock Height for Your Activity”, by Emily Ridley. Getting it right makes a real difference.
Sock height affects more than just how much of your leg is covered. It determines how much protection and structure your ankle gets, how well debris and friction are managed, and how your sock performs across different activities and conditions.

| Activity | Recommended height |
|---|---|
| Short or easy runs | Ankle or Quarter |
| Long distance running | Crew or Knee-High |
| Trail running | Crew or Knee-High |
| Gym training | No Show, Ankle, or Quarter |
| Cycling | Ankle or Quarter |
| Everyday wear | No Show, Ankle, or Crew |
| Cold weather training | Crew or Knee-High |
| Standing all day | Crew or Knee-High |

Stays put. All day.
Arch support and cuff compression lock the sock in place, so it stays put without slipping, bunching, or needing to be pulled up.
Keeps you cool.
Engineered mesh and targeted ventilation let heat and moisture escape where you need it most, keeping feet cooler from the first step to the last.
Cushioned where you land.
Reinforced cushioning under the heel and forefoot absorbs impact where it matters most, helping every step feel better.
No seams. No distractions.
Hand-linked toe closure eliminates bulky seams and reduces rubbing, so nothing gets between you and your goals.

What Makes a Performance Sock Different from a Regular Sock?
Most people don't think about their socks until something goes wrong. A blister at kilometre eight. A sock that's bunched under the arch by the end of a training session.

Best Socks for the Gym: What Serious Athletes Actually Wear
Most athletes spend more time thinking about their shoes than what's inside them. But your socks are touching your skin for every rep, every sprint, every set.

Frequently Asked Questions
Seven answers from the About page, word for word.
What makes Outway socks different?
Most brands treat socks as an afterthought. We only make socks, and we've been at it since 2016. Every pair is built with performance yarns that pull sweat off the skin, an arch band and cuff compression that keep the sock where you put it, and a hand-linked toe with no seam to rub. Then we put a design on it that most brands wouldn't touch. They work for the run, the lift, the ride, the workday, and whatever comes after.
What are they made of?
Depends on the line. Our Athletic socks use a polyester and nylon blend with spandex for stretch and recovery. Supima cotton for softness that holds up. Merino wool for temperature regulation and odour resistance in select styles. Every line gets the same construction: arch support, cuff compression, and a hand-linked toe.
What size should I order?
Sizing is unisex and based on your shoe size. Check the sizing chart on any product page and match your size to the range. If you're between sizes, size up. A sock that's slightly long will still sit right; one that's short will pull at the toe.
How do I wash them?
Cold wash, air dry. No bleach, no fabric softener. Softener coats the yarn and reduces wicking, which is the thing you paid for. They'll survive a warm wash and a tumble dry if you're in a hurry. They'll just last longer if you aren't.
What's your warranty?
One year against manufacturing defects. If a seam fails or the knit gives out, we'll replace them. Normal wear and tear, damage from removing packaging, and general use aren't covered. Bought from a retailer? Process the return through them. All claims are reviewed before approval.
How fast do you ship, and what if I need to return something?
Most US and Canadian orders arrive in 5 to 8 business days. You'll get a tracking link when it ships. Returns and exchanges are open for 100 days. Socks need to be unworn and in the original packaging. Exchanges for a different size or design are available, with shipping and handling fees. Full details on the Returns and Exchanges page or in the Help Center.
Do you make custom socks?
Yes. Custom Lab handles branded socks for companies, teams, and events, from small runs to large orders. Start at customlab.com and we'll do the first design for free.
